The Nourishing: Perseverance brings good fortune. Observe how nourishment is sought, and see what one truly feeds upon.
Lines
- First line (1): Initial Nine: You abandon your own spiritual treasure and watch me with open-mouthed greed. Misfortune.
- Second line (2): Six in the Second: Nourishment from below, violating the norm. To seek nourishment from the heights brings misfortune.
- Third line (3): Six in the Third: Nourishment that is contrary. Perseverance brings misfortune. For ten years do nothing; there is no benefit in any action.
- Fourth line (4): Six in the Fourth: Nourishment from below brings good fortune. With the fierce gaze of a tiger, with intense and relentless desire, there is no blame.
- Fifth line (5): Six in the Fifth: Violating the norm. Perseverance brings good fortune, but one cannot cross the great river.
