Judgment

The Wanderer. Small progress. Perseverance brings good fortune to the wanderer.

Lines

• First line (1): The wanderer is petty and mean; this brings about his own misfortune.
• Second line (2): The wanderer arrives at an inn, carrying his possessions, and obtains the loyalty of a young servant.
• Third line (3): The wanderer's lodging is burned, and he loses his servant. Perseverance brings danger.
• Fourth line (4): The wanderer finds a place to stay, and obtains his means of livelihood, but his heart is not at ease.
• Fifth line (5): He shoots a pheasant with one arrow, and though he loses it, in the end he gains praise and a mandate.
• Top line (6): The bird's nest is burned; the wanderer first laughs, then wails. He loses his ox in a sudden turn of events. Misfortune.
